Jay Felicio takes you through the week in QB play with instant analysis of who’s trending up… and down. We’ll update the Sunday afternoon and “Sunday Night Football” after
Geno Smith – Up
Geno Smith’s best game of the season comes while facing one of the most formidable defenses in the league and dealing with a banged-up elbow. Because…the NFL. After a Week 14 meeting with the 49ers, Smith has one of the best fantasy playoff schedules for quarterbacks (vs. PHI, at TEN, vs. PIT). Wait to trust him in 1QB, but he’s a viable starter.

Dak Prescott – Up
The only way you’re not starting Dak Prescott is if you’re unwilling to shout, “Here we GOOOOOO!” when setting your lineup.

Justin Herbert – Down
The weather was nasty in New England, but Herbert didn’t look particularly good. Thankfully, the Chargers have just one more outdoor game this season, but there has to be concern about his recent play.
Bailey Zappe – Down
You’re not starting Bailey Zappe or any Patriots quarterback outside of the most dire situations.
Jared Goff – Unchanged
It was an underwhelming game for Goff, but it had more to do with the Lions’ big early lead versus a poor performance. You can pencil in two touchdowns for Goff weekly. He’s a borderline QB1 and every-week starter in most leagues, regardless of format.
Derek Carr – Down
Even before leaving the game in the 4th after taking a big hit from Bruce Irvin (yes, that Bruce Irvin), Carr didn’t look particularly good. I would be shocked if Carr starts next week after being evaluated for multiple injuries and having to be helped off the field. Whoever starts for the Saints is merely a back-end QB2.
Jameis Winston is good in the same way Taco Bell is good.
you know better, but it’s fun and you want it anyway.

Desmond Ridder – Down
Dont. Just don’t.
Tim Boyle – Down
If you were starting Tim Boyle this week, at least take solace because there is only one week left in your fantasy season. Benched for Trevor Siemean, I doubt Boyle sees another snap. Whoever the starting QB is for the Jets, don’t bother.
Kyler Murray – Unchanged
It was a disappointing day, but the weather was sloppy (the game was stopped twice because of lightning), and James Conner saw a season-high 25 carries. Murray failed to rush for a touchdown for the first game this season but should be viewed as a borderline QB1.

Kenny Pickett – Down
Kenny Pickett looked decent before leaving the game with an ankle injury, completing 7 of 10 passes. The Steelers play the Patriots on Thursday night, so I think his chances of playing Week 14 are low. Similar to the Jets situation, avoid whoever starts.
Gardner Minshew – Up
The next generation’s Ryan Fitzpatrick threw the game-winning touchdown in OT, his second of the day. With the state of quarterback in fantasy football, Minshew is a solid streamer and likely an every-week starter in Superflex.
Will Levis – Down
The blame doesn’t fall squarely on Levis, who dealt with some costly drops from his receivers. But he’s nothing more than a desperation play in superflex leagues.
Tua Tagovailoa – Unchanged
Tua’s trend of producing in good matchups continues. He should be fine next week against Tennessee, but temper expectations for Tua in the fantasy playoffs.
Sam Howell – Unchange
Blake Bortles Sam Howell salvaged a solid day thanks to garbage time production. It all counts in fantasy football, so Howell remains a solid QB2 in Superflex and a borderline starter in QB1.
Russell Wilson – Down
Games like this are why Rusell Wilson can’t be trusted as anything more than a middling QB2 despite a lofty touchdown total.
C.J. Stroud – Up
Stroud briefly left the game for a concussion evaluation but was cleared to return. He lost his top weapon Tank Dell, to a fractured fibula, but Stroud remains an every-week starter.
Bryce Young – Down
There was an ever-so-slight hope that the firing of Frank Reich and a matchup with the Bucs could lead to Young showing some signs of life. Having any hope was extremely optimistic. He remains unstartable in fantasy.
Baker Mayfield – Down
It’s the same every week for Mayfield: about 200 passing yards, 1-2 touchdowns, and 1-2 turnovers. I expected a better day for Mayfield against the Panthers, but he’s nothing more than a back-end QB2.

Joe Flacco – Up (Gross, I know)
For a 38-year-old signed off the couch, Flacco looked surprisingly good. With nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns, Flacco can be viewed as a very risky QB2.
Matthew Stafford – Up
Stafford was able to throw for three touchdowns and nearly 300 yards against the Browns with a less than 100% Cooper Kupp, and Puka Nacua leaving for part of the game with a rib injury. He’s a risk/reward QB2 with a limited ceiling and safe floor.
Brock Purdy – Up
Purdy just went into Philly and threw for 314 yards and four touchdowns. SuperFlex, 2QB, 1QB, no QB, it doesn’t matter… Start Brock Purdy!
Jalen Hurts – Up
Hurts still put up over 300 total yards and two touchdowns against a surging 49ers defense. You don’t need me to tell you to start Jalen Hurts.
Patrick Mahomes — Down
Thanks to a poor supporting cast, Patrick Mahomes can no longer be considered the high-floor, high-ceiling elite option he has been in the past. He’s still a must-start in SuperFlex, but benching him in 1QB leagues is no longer unfathomable.
Jordan Love — Up
Make that four straight games of over 250 passing yards and multiple touchdowns for Jordan Love. He’s made adjustments from his mid-season skid and has graduated to an every-week start in SuperFlex and 1QB.
Jake Browning — Up
The Bengals have finally started to force-feed Ja’Marr Chase the ball, and it led to Jake Burrowning’s best performance since taking over as the starter. He’s a high-risk/high-reward QB2 who’s starting in most Super Flex leagues with a shortage of options at quarterback thanks to injury.
Jake Browning completed every one of his 7 pass attempts over 10 air yards on the night, the most downfield completions without an incompletion since Week 16, 2021.

Trevor Lawrence — Down
Trevor Lawrence was on his way to having another stellar performance but left the game due to his left tackle stepping on his ankle injury. At the time of writing this, he’s yet to undergo an MRI, but it sounds like a sprain versus a break. Regardless, there’s a very real chance he’s out for the rest of the fantasy season. – Stock Down
